Practice Nurses

Rebecca Boag
Ronnie Ellis

Dr John Smalley moved his practice to this location in 1987 and was joined later by Dr Lynda Exton and later still by Dr Wendy Pattemore.
Wendy left in 2008 and Lyndell took over her practice.
The practice was started with a view to delivering wholistic health with integration of mental spiritual and physical wellbeing.

Dr John Smalley

John began work at the Centre in 1987 and was involved in general practice, counselling, the training of counsellors and also worked at the
Salvation Army Bridge Programme for Treatment of Alcohol and Drug Dependence. He is no longer counselling or training counsellors but
continues a special interest in mental health and drug dependence. In the days before midwifery disappeared from general practice he was
actively involved in home deliveries.
John is still taking new patients.

Current interests: ballroom dancing, getting his golf handicap down to zero before he gets too old, surviving with children.

Dr Lynda Exton and Practice Nurse Rebecca Boag

Lynda is a registered medical practitioner and a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs. She has a Post graduate diploma in Obstetrics. She has been a family doctor for the last 20 years and for the last 18 years approximately of that time she has been a GP here at Arahura. Lynda's practice books have been unfortunately closed for the last few years and she is not accepting new patients into her practice.

Ronnie Ellis is the practice nurse and provides an essential dimension to the service provided to our patients.
