I was born in Bombay, India, and came to Aotearoa-New Zealand with my family in the mid-1980s. We came aboard the great bird of Air New Zealand. About seventy years previous, my grandfather arrived aboard a ship, the Bremen. On my mother's side, my family come from Scottish borderland clans and Cumbrian dissenters. My father's family is Catholic, in contrast, and escaped the Irish potato famines to settle in Manchester, Northern England.
My family have a long history of living and working in India. My heart is spread between the the green British Isles, great dusty India, and this wonderful 'hold' of islands, Aotearoa-New Zealand.

Even though I am a qualified counsellor/therapist, and I fully accept these professional limitations, I have always sought to work in a holistic way.  'Mind', 'body', and 'spirit' are always already present and interconnected. I see healing as a natural process that happens when we are present to this deeper unity of being, and when we invite the split-off, alienated parts of our self into a more genuine, loving relationship with each other. This supports wholeness and life.

I work with a wide variety of people, including adult men and women dealing with the impact of past trauma, abuse, or any 'unfinished situations' where their needs were not fully supported and met.  I have specialized training in field of 'Mind-Body' healthcare, and work with people who are suffering from physical illness related to life stress and distress.

My joy is in meeting people, in supporting people to know and meet themselves more fully, and to make contact with others and the world around them from that rich, full, 'knowing place' we used to call heart or soul.
